Be A Volunteer
Through its well-established volunteer program, the Mission Community Archives offers those interested in preserving the recorded history of Mission the opportunity to assist with the delivery of programs and services. In addition, the Community Archives provides relevant volunteer work experience for practicum students from secondary and post-secondary institutions.
Integral to the Archives operation, volunteers work in a team-oriented environment assisting a professionally trained Archivist with the preservation and accessibility of the Mission’s documentary heritage.
Volunteers are assigned tasks or projects in accordance with their interests, abilities and availability including: organizing and cataloguing of materials; interacting with broad sector of people; preparing finding aids, digitizing records, delivering public programs, and using specialized computer programs and other technologies to advance online resources for the public.
