Annual Celebration of Women
Every October during Women's History Month in Canada, a Celebration of Women is held where those in attendance have the opportunity to meet, learn about, and be inspired by the extraordinary individuals honoured through the program.

At the celebration, the lives and unique contributions made by women are told through the exhibition of personal letters, reminiscences, scrapbooks, photographs, organizational records, memorabilia etc. digitized by the Mission Community Archives. The intent is to:
  • acknowledge both the exceptional and every day, real life contributions of women to our economic, political, and social history; and
  • promote awareness, appreciation, and understanding of women's history within our community.
Since 1996 the lives of 105 women have being documented by the Archives and celebrated through this innovative program founded by Archivist Val Billesberger.
